Camp Rules
All participants are expected to:
- Treat others with respect.
- Follow camp rules and staff directions.
- Respect Deaf culture and community values.
- Maintain appropriate behavior at all times.
- Understand that bullying, harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
What happens if someone violates camp rules?
Camp leadership may issue warnings, restrict participation, or remove individuals from camp depending on the severity of the situation.
Can I bring alcohol, cannabis, or illegal substances?
No. Alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, and other prohibited substances are not allowed. Participants are expected to follow New York State laws, state park rules, and camp policies. Violations may result in immediate removal from camp.

Where is MADA Camp?

What should I know about the campsite?
Wildwood State Park is a natural outdoor environment. Participants should be prepared for:
- Uneven walking surfaces and trails.
- Changing weather conditions.
- Insects and wildlife are common in outdoor settings.
- Walking between activity areas and campsites.
Who can attend this camp?
This camp welcomes all - Deaf, Hard of Hearing, CODA/KODA, and hearing people.
Will camp activities be accessible in ASL?
Yes. MADA Camp is a fully immersive ASL environment. Camp activities, announcements, and programs will be conducted in ASL. Interpreting services are not provided. Families who know little or no ASL are still welcome to attend. MADA Camp is a family-friendly space where everyone can experience Deaf life, culture, and community together for three days.

Are refunds available?
No. Camp registration fees are non-refundable.
What if I arrive late or need to leave early?
We understand that unexpected circumstances may happen. Participants are strongly encouraged to arrive on time and stay for the full duration of camp to fully experience all activities and group bonding. If you need to arrive late or leave early, please contact camp staff in advance.

Participants are strongly encouraged and expected to stay for the entire duration of camp to fully experience all activities and group bonding. If you need to leave camp and return later, please communicate with camp leadership in advance.
What should campers bring?
Bring comfortable outdoor clothing, closed-toe shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, required medication, and any final items listed by the organizing team.
What if I have dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical conditions?
Participants and families are responsible for managing their own dietary, allergy, and medical needs. Please plan ahead and bring any food, medication, supplies, or personal care items you may need during camp.
What if I have a medical emergency?
In case of an emergency, call 911 immediately. Camp staff may help with communication when possible, but medical decisions and treatment are the responsibility of the participant and/or their family.
Will there be cell phone service and Wi-Fi?
Cell service may be limited in some areas of the park. Wi-Fi is not guaranteed. Participants should plan accordingly.
Are camp staff responsible for lost or stolen items?
No. Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings.
Can I bring my pet?
No. Wildwood State Park does not allow pets year-round except for service animals. For more information, please visit the New York Wildwood State Park website.
